Product Description

Polished aluminum profiles, surface polishing of aluminum profiles is an important processing technology in aluminum profile processing, which can improve the durability and aesthetics of aluminum profile products, thereby increasing the value and attractiveness of aluminum profile products.

Chemical polishing and electrochemical polishing are an advanced finishing method that can remove minor mildew and scratches from the surface of aluminum products; both can also remove friction bands, thermally deformed layers and anodizing that may form in mechanical polishing film layer. After chemical or electrochemical polishing, the rough surface of aluminum workpieces tends to be smooth and shiny like a mirror, which improves the decorative effect of aluminum products (such as reflection properties, brightness, etc.). It can also provide higher value-added commercial products to meet the demand for aluminum products with bright surfaces. Therefore, chemical polishing or electrochemical polishing treatment is required to achieve the special surface requirements of smooth, uniform and bright.

Chemical polishing and electrochemical polishing can make the surface of aluminum profiles very bright, but in terms of polishing, chemical polishing (or electrochemical polishing) is fundamentally different from mechanical polishing:

Mechanical polishing is the use of physical tools to plastically deform the aluminum surface through high-speed cutting and grinding, forcing the convex parts of the surface to fill the concave parts, thereby reducing and smoothing the surface roughness of the aluminum profile. However, mechanical polishing may damage the metal surface crystallization, and even generate plastic deformation layers and microstructure changes due to local heating.

Chemical polishing is a kind of chemical corrosion under special conditions. The process is to control the selective dissolution, so that the convex part of the surface of the aluminum profile is dissolved before the concave area, and finally the surface is smooth and bright.

The process of electrochemical polishing, also known as electropolishing, is similar to chemical polishing in that it can make surfaces smooth and bright by controlling selective dissolution. According to the principle of electrochemical tip discharge, the aluminum profile is immersed in the prepared electrolyte as the anode, and the corrosion-resistant material with good conductivity is immersed into the cathode.

In industrial production, the main purpose of chemical polishing or electrochemical polishing is to replace mechanical polishing to obtain a smooth and bright surface. The second is to use chemical polishing or electrochemical polishing to obtain very high and spectacular reflectance of aluminum and aluminum parts.
